Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club is a Dan Maples design that features some of the best bent grass greens on the Grand Strand. This 27-hole complex features a mix of open, player-friendly holes, tree-lined narrow fairways, and holes requiring carries over water hazards to daunting greens. This course is a favorite of the locals and is a great value. The Willard Byrd Course at Sea Trail Resort (www.seatrailgolf.com) offers scenic views of the Calabash River, which winds its way through the resort, and features ancient oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. The Byrd Course, one of three great courses at Sea Trail, offers a challenging but fair layout that is fun for golfers of all levels.
